Calm place in the nature, far from the city. Perfect for the night. The little shop from the monastery will allow you to enjoy a few beer, wine or chocolate. The dinner is really nice to. Also by reaching it you will have pass part of the uphill to Gernika and make the begining of the following day a bit easier. A most to do.

Lugar perfecto.

One of the best Albergues I stayed in, despite the limits. The meal seems to be the same over time (compared to other people's comments): a vegetable soup with pasta in it. They told me it is vegan. A little overcooked but enough otherwise. Also bread. Breakfast is bread. Negatives: the monks are cold and keep contact to a minimum (apparently the one in the shop is more smiley). The showers can flood due to poor drainage. Positives: in a nice setting, away from the crowds. The Gregorian chants are pleasant. They have a sink and basic kitchenware, also microwave. So you can prepare your own food. It can be confusing regarding its location, but it is on the Camino, unlike what the map seemed to show.

Zenarruza emociona.

It was very soulful and calm. The store has a delicious monastic beer, I recommend! In the evening there was a mass for pilgrims.

09-2018: for the pilgrims who are not to focussed on having luxury the monastery is a great place to sleep. It's based on donativo. There are 2 dormatories with about 12 beds each. The bathroom is old and there is only one shower. In the evening they offer a vegetarian meal and in the morning there is the opportunity to make coffee and breakfast. The monastery has a shop where you can buy wine, beer, cheese and chocolate.

Pros: beer for sale, the communal was simple but nice in how it drew all of us together! That alone made it for me. Having hot tea/coffee also nice touch. Optional vespers service nice and hard to find in this Camino. No specific donation expected of us. Cons: Isn’t very clean. Flies also everywhere and not even a flyswatter to get them out. Surprised to see breakfast only the leftover bread from the night before, which by then the flies had swarmed over all night. Hoped to have a little communal experience with the monks, which did not happen at all, the one monk who told us the bare necessities got in and out quickly, none of them ate with us or even really conversed with us.

The best place ever on the camino. Hot water, a small kitchen with only a microwave, but in this place there was everything. First aid, desinfection, alcohol, there was coffee and tea, we have got dinner and breakfast from the monks. There is a small shop at the monastery with everything what you dont expect, chocolate, wine, beer... if im making the camino again, i will come again to this place.

You have to donate 10€. For that, you geht free lunch, dinner and breakfast. The dormitory was quite small, the monks were all friendly, but did not seek the community. Warning: The door can only be opened from the inside!
