Albergue del Polideportivo de Gorostiza - Comentarios

It's a nice place that could be a good albergue. It is close to Bilbao, however the 8 km from Bilbao are quite hilly. I was twice there once there was little number of guests and it was fine, the manager was very professional and experienced pilgrim, from whom I learned a lot, second time the albergue was fool, and it cames out that the two small bathrooms are not enough, that the electricity network can't support the number of phone chargers and the tiny toster. The manager was quite demanding and difficult, required a lot of patience from me, some of the rules she was creating depending on her mood like time for get up 6.00 o clock not earlier- absurd. There is a beautiful swimming pool in the complex price to the swimming pool included in the albergue donativo (which I did not know earlier about, but anyway the entrance fee is 4,5 eur only for the entire day) the place is not far away from international airport 15 minutes walk +1 hour metro & bus. Good place to sleep and leave early and go or finish the adventure before flying back home. Kitchen is very simple, small, uninvested, only microwave and water boiler for tea coffee, and fridge. When small amount of people and the experienced manager I recommend it. It s clean.

El albergue de Gorostiza (Barakaldo) sigue abierto. Es de donativo, excelentemente atendido por hospitaleros voluntarios, muy tranquilo. Tiene 16 camas en 4 habitaciones diferentes y nunca se llena. Si llegas a Bilbao (el albergue de Begoña está cerrado) agotado sin sitio para dormir puedes ir en el metro de Cruces. Luego sigues por el camino del norte bien recuperado. (Portugalete, Pobeña, Castro Urdiales etc.)
