Joris Boonekamp At first i was skeptical since they're evangelical and I'm not a Christian. I had experienced the religion-neutral ceremonies of Grañon and Foncebadon (Domus Dei) so i had expectations and prejudices. But go in with an open mind and experience the true hospitality of American (all with very non-American life stories though!) families. They do strongly believe in the gospel but it really comes from the heart and they're genuinely interested in hearing about your background. The personal message in the morning shows how well they listened. I also loved how their children were all part of it and even shared their visions, hopes and dreams. As they say themselves, they are the odd duck even among Americans so let yourself be surprised. |

Victorius Es raro encontrar en Galicia un albergue con espíritu del camino... donativo, cena comunitaria, religioso o espiritual. Este lo es. |

Stephanie Martin This was such a lovely place to stay in my last week leading up to the end of the Camino. The volunteers running this place were so loving and kind. Truly generous and welcoming. Everything is so meticulously clean and homely. The beds were soft and comfortable. And there was the opportunity to reflect and ask ourselves the questions of why really we are here and doing the Camino. I truly recommend anyone a stopover here, to stay the night away from the big towns and crowds. Dinner and dessert was delicious too. The true meaning of service from the heart. What touched me greatly also, were the personalised notes that were left on the breakfast table for each pilgrim who stayed the night, notes addressed to each of us, with our names on a card, wishing blessings and peace. Thank you so much for being an oasis of kindness on the Camino! |
