Advices needed. 7–8 days track. Where to start?

Hello dear piligrims!

This is my first time on Camino. I have 7–8 days for walking. Starting in 20s of this October. I really would appreciate any advices about:

1. Where to start, and what way to choose so on my 8th day of walking i can get to Santiago, if i walk NOT more than 20 a day? Because its my frist time i want to make it calm and meditative, not thinkin about the amount of km i can achieve.

2. What about auberge and hostels this time of the year? Are they open? Where is better to book them?

3. Food! :) again, some suggestions. Is it markets, cafes or self cooking? Your ideas and stories, please :)))

Thank you in advance!!!

If it's your first way and in October, the best option is to walk the "Camino Frances", because in this way there are more people and services. You have hostels and bunk beds, or better accomodation in all village, and restaurantes, supermarkets, etc. (many hostels have kitchen, but not all)

You can see all the information about Camino Frances in this link: https://www.gronze.com/camino-frances In each stage you can see the information, the villages and all accommodations.

The stages are simple recommendations, but each one can adapt them according to their needs or tastes.

For example, if you want to finish your way in Santiago in 8 days, you could start the way in O cebreiro. (https://www.gronze.com/camino-de-santiago/como-llegar/cebreiro) or Villafranca del Bierzo.

Hi Tania¡¡

You can take a bus form Madrid to Piedrafita do Cebreiro (www.alsa.es). There you have 2 options, the first, on foot smiley, second one, taxi...

Anyway, you can check on this website, https://www.gronze.com/camino-de-santiago/como-llegar/cebreiro.

Buen Camino.

Greetings¡¡
