This place is amazing. The owner Paolo knows everything about the Camino. During dinner, everyone gathers around the table, talking and listening to stories. The food is very tasty. The rooms are cozy and clean, mostly with 2 beds. There is hot water. You can sit in the garden before dinner.

Muy bien. Acogedor, espacioso.

The Casa Católico Albergue in Branca is a true gem for pilgrims embarking on the Camino de Santiago. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warmest of smiles and an incredible hospitality by the hospitaleiro, Paulo. His genuine kindness and helpfulness made my stay at the hostel truly memorable. First and foremost, I was struck by the impeccable cleanliness of the entire space. The hostel was spotless, and every corner exuded a sense of tidiness and order. It was evident that great care and attention were given to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for all the guests. The facilities were well-maintained, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of walking. One of the highlights of my stay was the communal dinner experience. Paulo's passion for bringing people together was evident in the way he organized the dinner. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it felt like a big family gathering. Sharing a meal with fellow pilgrims and exchanging stories and experiences created a sense of camaraderie that enriched the overall pilgrimage journey. What truly impressed me was Paulo's extensive knowledge as a pilgrim of the Camino de Santiago. He shared valuable insights, tips, and recommendations, making him an invaluable resource for anyone undertaking the pilgrimage. His passion for the Camino was contagious, and it sparked a newfound enthusiasm in me to explore more deeply the spiritual and historical aspects of this ancient route. In conclusion, the Casa Católico in Branca, under the guidance of hospitaleiro Paulo, is an exceptional place for pilgrims seeking a comfortable and enriching experience along the Camino de Santiago. From the genuine warmth and friendliness to the impeccable cleanliness of the space, the communal dinners fostering a sense of community, and Paulo's vast knowledge as a seasoned pilgrim, every aspect of my stay was truly outstanding. I strongly recommend Casa Católico to all pilgrims embarking on this incredible journey. This albergue is its donation-based system. I really encourage pilgrims to leave a donation that reflects their appreciation for the services provided. This responsible donation system ensures the sustainability of the hostel and allows future pilgrims to enjoy the same exceptional experience. Paulo, being an experienced pilgrim himself, understands the challenges that pilgrims face and the value of the Camino de Santiago journey. His dedication to maintaining a high standard of hospitality while keeping the hostel donation-based is truly commendable. It creates an environment where pilgrims can contribute according to their means, fostering a spirit of generosity and reciprocity among fellow travelers. It is important to highlight the significance of leaving a responsible donation. The Casa Católico Albergue relies on these contributions to continue providing excellent services and maintaining the hostel for future pilgrims. Each donation made by a pilgrim helps to sustain the operations of the hostel, ensuring that the welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and communal dinners can be enjoyed by those who follow in their footsteps.

I stayed in Casa Católico in 2019, just a few weeks after Paulo opened it. It was a quiet day with just two guests, my partner and I. From the first moment we felt really like home, and for me, this is the best I can say about an albergue. Besides that, Paulo had everything neat an clean, and prepeared a wonderful dinner and breakfast he shared with us. Fully recommend, so recommend that in a few days we will go there again!
