Travel Documents

Hi, family! My first camino is scheduled for 9/18-11/1, SJPDP to Santiago. Wow, just writing that made me lose my breath---I'm excited and scared, but mostly excited. :)

Wondering if anyone could help provide clarification on which travel documentation I'll need this fall (besides passport and vaccination card). France doesn't appear to require any additional paperwork for US citizens, but I'm curious if I'll need anything additional walking into/flying out of Spain, or when flying from Spain into France.

Plane from US to Paris-->train to SJPDP-->walk to Santiago-->plane from Santiago to Paris

You need health insurance and nothing else. Crossing the border from France to Spain is like crossing from one state to another in the US. No one will ask you for anything, they are in the same "Shengen space".

Buen Camino.

Do you carry trekking sticks in the cabin of the plane?  We are going to travel from Cardiff (UK) to Faro, to start the journey in Porto and I don't know if they will allow us to go through the security control, since we are not going to check in and we carry the backpacks in the cabin.  We would not like them to be seized. Thank you
