Camino del Norte in January
What is the situation on Camino Norte in January ? Albergue open or no ? And what about whether? Thanks you !!!

What is the situation on Camino Norte in January ? Albergue open or no ? And what about whether? Thanks you !!!
January is not the best moment of the year for walking in Spain. And the Camino Del Norte maybe the worst. Even in the Camino Francés you will find many albergues and many bars and restaurants closed. If you absolutely want to walk in that month the best option is the Camino Francés. At least you will find enough support and of course the best people of the entire year.
Buen Camino
I think the advise from Bruno, above, is very wise. Anyhow, once you get Ribadeo (Galicia) in Camino del Norte, you would be wellcomed in the public net of shelters from Xunta de Galicia.

Наталья Талько: El Camino del Norte también puede hacerse en invierno. Cierto que lo encontrarás muy embarrado, debido a la abundante lluvia, pero si eso no te asusta ¡adelante! (busca, aquí en Gronze, los albergues abiertos).

I think is the worst option you can choose. Camino Norte = less albergues than other Caminos and in January many albergues are closed. About weather, usually january is coldest month.

Al menos desde Xixón, los albergues públicos siempre abiertos (puede haber alguna excepción). Lo público es un servicio a la ciudadania, por eso no entiende de temporadas, al contrario que lo privado (con, también, honrosas excepciones).
¡Hay suficientes albergues públicos abiertos como para hacer Xixón-Santiago en invierno!
